I must say though - the idea that 'traditional videos will always be the norm' sounds a bit short-sighted. Wow, I'm very surprised to see how many people think it's just a fad! Food for thought. I always remember people talking about VR before the first few headsets came out saying stuff like, 'It's just something only middle-aged white guys will excited about / buy' I'm just honestly surprised the VR fad lasted as long as it has. I do agree with people saying that traditional videos will still exist in the future though.

And that already makes stuff way more immersive just from audio. But I already have earbuds that give that ranged effect or having it sound like things are behind you or stuff like that. Like, I get that it makes you feel morel like you're there or whatever. So then light gets in a little and makes it really distracting.Д®ven with stuff like games that have VR as an option, I don't really think I'd prefer it over the normal thing. Something about it kinda makes the rubber at the bottom not sit right or something. But I also pretty much have to wear glasses, and I've heard that causes problems anyway. I haven't tried any of the head sets out there. I think VR is kind of a gimmick, but I get why people have fun with it. Hell, I put out a guide for people to make their own simple models, and very few people are actually interested, which is concerning. I've been working on a couple of R-18 edits but I probably won't end up releasing them because 1) obviously against the original modeler's terms, 2) I get zero benefit from it, 3) other people may utilize them for monetary gain or put them in private videos (?).

I've been slowly teaching myself how to edit using PMXe and even want to delve into 3d modeling, but I get super demotivated when I see very little credit being given around here.

More credit needs to be given towards actual modelers and motion creators, but all we do is use their work, not give them any credit, and then sometimes even make money off of them (Patreon people wtf are you doing?). You give high praise towards video creators advancing MMD, but I think the community is going backwards in terms of advancement because of the low/decreasing number of original modelers. Kind of off topic, but I want to touch on this subject a bit. or at least VR creators will be the most influential/popular in terms of advancing MMD. (You do need a halfway decent graphics card - preferably GeForce 970 and up - since the program powers the graphics thru the computer and not the phone like regular cardboard would) It can be used with wifi, but you can tether to USB too and play offline! Here is the link: I am using a program called VRidge coupled with a cheap headset + phone, which gives in my opinion an excellent VR experience for much less - it's almost Oculus-level quality IMO, I was honestly blown away. but you can switch between physical/animated models, there's lighting, multiple stages, I get 60+ FPS, and you can manipulate models/positions/morphs/bones in-game as they dance. The only downside is that I don't believe shaders/cameras. I'm excited to see how MMD creators will adapt since I'm convinced that VR is the future for this stuff - there's no comparison between watching a 2D video and actually being able to wander about in 3D space, take in the dances from different perspectives, change models + motions on the fly, touch the ladies while they dance.
